My name is Jose L. Melendez and I was born in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and raised in El Paso, Texas since the age of 8. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University, in Fort Worth, Texas, with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish, 2008. I have been a part of a successful research program, called the Welch Research Program, which ended in a publication in the American Chemical Society. As a new teacher here at Falcon, I am delighted to work with the secondary students with the hope that I can become an educational instrument. I am excited to introduce our youth to the world of science in an interesting and fun manner; to pass on the importance of science and the positive experience of being able to relate the subject to real life.
