If you are relocating to the Jaco area, or if you have children in a near by school already, we think that the best option for your childes education is Falcon International School.
Our daughter is in 1st grade and we feel she has made incredible advances this year both academically and socially. Her teacher is awesome and Ashley loves school.
Our niece is in 10Th grade and was the first high school student at Falcon. She has normal classes and receives some by way of an accredited on line virtual school. It is an excellent program.
We look forward to the advantages our children will have as a result of graduating from an accredited international school.

As parents of an 8 year old daughter, we moved to Costa Rica with hesitations about what we would find for schooling.
We found ourselves interviewing the administration of Falcon International School in Herradura, close to where we had chosen a home. As a small private school, Falcon had everything that we were looking for. The facility itself is impressive as it is a state of the art school with room to grow as the enrolment increases. The staff and administrators are made up of Costa Rican and North American educators who teach a curriculum that satisfies both the national school criteria as well as north American school criteria.
Only 3 months after my daughter entered the school she was comfortably speaking conversational Spanish with the friends she made. As parents, we were welcomed into the school community and felt very happy with the “open-door” policy of the school’s director and principal. Our input and constructive criticism has been well received and in many cases implemented. We have the ability to directly and positively impact and participate in our daughter’s education, something back in Canada we would not have been able to do.
After 3 years at Falcon, our daughter has excelled scholastically, is bilingual, participates in golf club, swimming club and dance club.
Due to the small class sizes, (her class has only 8 students) our daughter receives excellent one on one time with the teachers. Her school has also completed and participated in community events and programs that help less fortunate children and families.
Each year the school visits the turtle sanctuary, only 20 minutes from the school, to learn about protection and natural habitats of the turtles. This is an experience that she would certainly not have had in Canada.
Jim and Martha Felhofer, who are the school founders and also parents at the school, have an incredible commitment to the school, the students and the community. Thanks to their commitment to excellence Falcon school was recently recommended to be the youngest school accepted into SACS: Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. This is an enormous accomplishment which will allow any of our graduating students to move on to Colleges and Universities in the United States or Canada, as Falcon will be recognized as an accredited school. Falcon is the only school in our area that can offer these credentials.
Falcon is a wonderful safe place for our daughter to learn and grown as a responsible young student and person. We would highly recommend other dedicated parents come and see what Falcon is all about!!!
