What is the FPA all about?
The FPA is comprised of Falcon International School parents who enjoy working together
to create community for ourselves and to support the school in many ways. The mission
of the Falcon Parent Association is to:

Promote the mission and vision of the school

Foster community spirit

Raise funds to enrich special programs beyond the school budget

Facilitate communication among the parents, administration and Board

Identify opportunities for parent participation in the school

Respond to the needs of parents facing issues.

Provide social gatherings (with and without children)

Recognize faculty effort

Collaborate with the school in the celebration of holidays. (Independence Day, Culture
Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween)

How do we enrich the school?
The FPA leadership, as representatives of the parent body, works to strengthen the
communication and coordination between the parents and the school. FPA
leaders serve as ears for parents and meet with the administration on a regular
basis to discuss concerns and objectives of the parent community.
The FPA raises funds from its activities throughout the year. These funds
enrich the school’s curriculum by buying materials for Physical education or/and
more books and materials for the Library and the Computer lab or as decided by the
FPA board
The FPA builds community by
providing a space where parents can interact and share their concerns about the
children and the curriculum and express their ideas and suggestions for school improvement. The contribution of the parents in money
and time provide support to the school toward the fulfillment of its mission.
FPA Goal
The Parents' Association
contributes their efforts to support the mission and vision of Falcon International
School by supporting school activities, organizing fundraising events and creating
an environment where parents can communicate and exchange ideas in a fun and social
setting.
The association works jointly with the School Administration to enhance Falcon International
School’s reputation as one of Costa Rica’s premier private schools by building and
fostering the strong ties that bind the many facets of the FIS community together.
Ultimately, the association works to ensure that parents have the opportunity to
enhance and support the School through volunteerism and philanthropy.
FPA Vision
The Falcon International
School Parents' Association exists to support the School's mission and vision and
to assist in providing parents the means to contribute to the School and to the
education of their children.
FPA Mission
Working closely with the School's administration, the FIS Parents' Association provides
advice and assistance in:

Facilitating
communication between parents and the School's Administration, through the election
of its members and through the dissemination of information and advice to and from
parents.

Providing
advice and counsel to the Head of School through the election of a parent to serve
as chair of the FPA Parent Advisory Council and the appointment of volunteers to
serve as members of that council.

Supporting
the School's fundraising by organizing activities with the participation with all
the parents.
·
Assist in
any way in keeping the policies established by the school Administration and to
support the school’s mission and values
·
Providing
opportunities for parents to volunteer and assist the School.
·
Participate
with collaborative efforts to enrich the educational experience for children.

De que se trata la FPA?
La FPA se compone de padres de Falcon International School
quienes disfrutan creando comunidad para nosotros mismos y para darle soporte a
la escuela de muchas maneras. La misión de la Asociación de Padres de Falcon es:
- Promover la misión y visión
de la escuela

Fomentar el espíritu comunitario
- Recolectar fondos para fortalecer
programas especiales que se salen del presupuesto escolar
- Facilitar la comunicación entre
padres, la administración y la Junta Directiva
- Identificar oportunidades para
participación de padres en la escuela
- Responder a las necesidades
de los padres que están enfrentando situaciones.
- Promover encuentros sociales
(con o sin niños)
- Reconocer el esfuerzo del cuerpo
docente
- Colaborar con la escuela en
la celebración de los días festivos (Día Independencia, Día Culturas, Día Acción
de Gracias, Halloween)
Como enriquecemos a la escuela?
El liderazgo de la FPA, como representantes de todos los
padres de familia, trabaja para fortalecer la comunicación y coordinación entre
padres y escuela.
Los líderes de la FPA sirven como oídos para padres
y se reúnen con la administración de manera regular para discutir preocupaciones
y objetivos de la comunidad de padres.
El FPA reúne fondos provenientes de sus actividades
durante el año. Estos fondos enriquecen el currículo de la escuela al proveer materiales
para Educación Física y/o más libros y materiales para la biblioteca, el laboratorio
de cómputo u otros que decida la junta directiva del FPA.
El FPA crea comunidad al proveer un espacio donde los padres pueden interactuar
y compartir sus preocupaciones acerca de los niños y el currículo y expresar sus
ideas y sugerencias para mejorar la escuela. La contribución de los padres, en tiempo
y dinero, da soporte a la escuela para el cumplimiento de su misión.
FPA Meta
La Asociación de Padres de Falcon
contribuye sus esfuerzos a apoyar la misión y visión de Falcon International School
al apoyar las actividades de la escuela, organizar eventos y crear un ambiente donde
los padres de familia puedan comunicarse e intercambiar ideas en un lugar divertido
y social.
La asociación trabaja en conjunto con la Administración para mejorar la reputación
de Falcon International School como uno de los colegios privados de primera en Costa
Rica al construir y fomentar los fuertes lazos que unen en varias facetas a la comunidad
de FIS. En última instancia, la asociación trabaja para asegurarse que los padres
tengan la oportunidad de mejorar y apoyar a la escuela por medio del voluntariado y la filantropía.
FPA Visión
La Asociación de Padres de Falcon
(FPA) existe para ayudar a la misión y visión de la escuela; también para proveer
a los padres los medios para contribuir con la escuela y la educación de sus hijos.
FPA Misión
Trabajar cerca de la
administración de la escuela, la Asociación de padres de FIS provee consejo y asistencia
en:

Facilitar la comunicación entre los padres y la Administración, a través la elección
de sus miembros y la difusión de información y consejo de y para los padres.
·
Proveer consejo a la cabeza de escuela a través de la elección de un padre que sirva como representante del Consejo
Asesor de Padres y designar voluntarios para que sean miembros de ese consejo.
·
Ayudar a la recaudación de fondos de la Escuela organizando actividades con la participación
de todos los padres.
·
Asistir de cualquier manera en mantener las políticas establecidas por la Administración
de la escuela y ayudar la misión y valores de la escuela
·
Proveer oportunidades para que los padres sean voluntarios y ayuden a la escuela.
·
Participar con esfuerzos colaboradores para enriquecer la experiencia educativa
de los niños.
